So it’s Valentines Day! You may be enjoying your special someone or content in your singleness; but there are some who are hurting, discouraged and lonely. I want to encourage you all!
I woke up to the love of my life this morning, exchanged gifts, and kissed him “see you later” for work. And now as I reflect on my life, I remember it was not always this way.
Often we see the joy of others and wish it were us or celebrate them and have no idea the road that lead up to that place.
I used to dread Valentines Day. I had some times when in hopes to create a love that was nonexistent, I did all the Celebrating and gift giving while the man did all the receiving. I had some where I was married and people assumed it would be a day of celebration for me but turned out to be just another day void of the love I desired and deserved. Let’s face it: flowers and candy don’t make up for a year of disrespect, infidelity, and lies!
Then something shifted and I begin to enjoy Valentines Day. You might be thinking that I mean when I met my husband, nope before him. When I was single again. I begin to focus on the love my God had for me, I begin to talk to him more and build a relationship. I learned to love myself and would feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to buy myself those things I wanted. I called them gifts from my Heavenly Father because He blessed me with resources to get myself the things my heart desired.
What a beautiful place to be! Even now I still receive gifts from my Heavenly Father, no one can beat His giving. No matter where you find yourself on today. Make sure you are experiencing the pure and unconditional love that only comes from the Father. It is available to you. I promise I won’t be jealous of the gifts you get 😉, He has more than enough to bless all his children. Smooches 😚
