Today is my husbands Birthday!!! As I sit and reflect back I realize that I am living the life I dreamed about when I was living a life of misery with the wrong man.

My love pursued me, made his intentions known to me (marriage and not just a fling), and was willing to meet with my spiritual parents and answer all the questions they had for him! And there were a few, as there should have been.
Now we parent our children together,  instead of referring to them as step children they are just OUR children! Instead of a mother in law, everyone is just momma and grandma, sister and brother, aunt and uncle. 

I guess my point is, if I hadn’t let go of my past and that which wasn’t worthy of me, I would never have been ready to receive the blessing of the relationship I have now. 

I hope that you will understand that it’s better to be alone than with someone that makes you feel less than. And that there are good men out there and I celebrate mine today and always 🎉

God is restoring the years I’ve sown in tears!!! Blessings 

So, today while commuting home I was nearly blinded by the sun reflecting off the side of a tractor trailer. 

The Lord spoke to me:
When we do good to those that use us, press to do what he calls us to do inspite of our feelings  or circumstances, and strive to walk uprightly the SON (Jesus) reflects off us and shines so bright into the eyes of those that are lost that they cannot deny Him!

Let the SON shine bright in you!

There will be times in your life where you will have opportunity to:

• Say, “I told you so”
• See someone that hurt or offended you, hurt or offended 
• Witness someone that judged you, fall and make a mistake
• Have the one that wouldn’t help you, ask you for help

When this happens what will you do? I challenge you to do what the Word of God says to do. 

• Love
• Bless
• Do good
• Pray

Use dicernment so you know when to love and bless from up close. Or do good and pray from behind the scenes.

““You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Will you accept the challenge? Or better yet, will you be obedient? The time will come for you to be tested. Hope you pass the test!

Months ago I said I would share how some of my unresolved issues with previous relationships caused me issues in my marriage. Well, one area has been: My mouth, or shall I say what comes out of it.

See in my previous marriage I knew he had one foot out the door from the start so I held a lot in. I would be very careful with my words because I didn’t want to say anything that would send him packing and out the door! Yes, I know, pitiful. But don’t judge me lol I was a broken women that was satisfied with a piece of a man. 

God blessed me with a new beginning and sent me an amazing man as my husband! He has restored the years I sowed in tears. But sadly, this man has paid the price for some of the foolishness of my past!

See I made a promise to myself. I would never allow myself to be treated the way I was before ever again. So at the first sign of disagreement, I would go from 1 to 100 and let my husband know exactly how feel. Mind you, these disagreements are pretty minor compared to the issues of my past but I lashed out as if it were something huge!  At that moment I treated him as if he’s my enemy when my real enemy is Satan and the thoughts of the past that he brings up at that moment.

I share this to say. Don’t make someone else pay for another’s mistakes. Deal with your mess and own up to the things you need to work on. I’m working on my mouth, by transforming my mind. I’m forgiving  those offenses I never received an apology for, and remembering that I’m blessed to be married to a Man that made a choice to have 2-feet in this marriage for now and forever!

Who holds the measuring stick for your life? There are times if I’m not careful I feel like I’m always missing the mark in some area of my life. 

As a wife, mother, daughter, minister etc. etc. etc. (not a typo 😉) I can feel stretched beyond capacity. I know I’m not alone. 

It seems at those times I’ll have someone innocently say something that feeds that feeling and I have to evaluate myself to see where I am on the measure stick of my life.

See God the father has set a standard or measuring stick for us. Its His mark I want to meet. 

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do I fall short? Certainly! But, I refuse to fall short because I’m spending time trying to meet all the measuring sticks others hold for me.

I didn’t state that my previous post was Part 1 but I have a Part 2. There are some behaviors that I’m also getting rid of!

• Comparing myself to others
• Seeking the approval of others
• Finding joy in the misfortune of my enemies
• Negative self talk
• Being run by my emotions instead of truth and faith

There were times I used the pain I was in, the struggle I was going through as an excuse to act out. No more!!!!

I have been purging my home getting rid of clothing, shoes, handbags, cosmetics, perfumes, hair products, office supplies, home decor etc that don’t inspire me or make me feel good about myself and surroundings. 

I found that I had lots of outfits I never wear because I don’t like them, they are outdated, or don’t fit properly. I also had tons of products and decor that I just don’t like or care to use anymore. So I got rid of it! It feels so refreshing and actually makes getting dressed for the day easier. 

As I look around my home at what’s left it means I like it, it fits good, I need it, or it is useful to me. 

You may be praying about getting rid of things, relationships and habits that you know are hindering your future. If that feels overwhelming; start with your clothes, beauty products and surroundings.

I know you have plans to hit the gym, reorganize the whole house, and work on that project and get it done. But don’t forget your self-care.
