We had a blessed session 12/1/16 talking about Boundaries! Join us next week Wed 12/14/16 at 9:00 p.m. to discuss “What’s Holding You Back?”
Here’s a ‘little’ of what you missed:
Many of us believe we have healthy boundaries in place in our lives but what we really have are walls we use to protect ourselves by shutting people out. Walls can actually keep your blessing out and cause you to be isolated from the very people you need to help you in this season.
You don’t need walls, you need boundaries. Boundaries set healthy guidelines and limits for our relationships. Boundaries help us keep the commandments of God. Boundaries will help foster healthy relationships and identify those aren’t. The key to boundaries is you have to set them and you have to enforce them.
If we look at Genesis 2:16-17 The Lord God placed man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden – except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat it’s fruit, you are sure to die.”
As we see in this scripture God stated the commandment. He could have put angels around the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He could have put a fence around it but He didn’t. It was up to Adam to set the right boundaries to ensure that he kept the commandments.
Some of the issues and frustration that we are enduring is because of our lack of establishing and enforcing proper boundaries. We have work to do!
Until next time…
